OUR VILLAGE: SANT ESTEVE SESROVIRES!
This is our village, so when you come you are going to
stay here. Furthermore, the people who live in Sant Esteve Sesrovires refers to it as Sant Esteve or simply 'Sanes'.
Sant Esteve
is a little village near Martorell. Moreover, it has got a population of 7,542 inhabitants, and an area of 18,47 km². Sant Esteve has got a bigger
area than Martorell; although Martorell has got more inhabitants.
Besides, the people who live in Sant Esteve speak Catalan and Spanish, but
almost all the inhabitants prefer Catalan.
Sant Esteve doesn’t have an official shield, but
normally we use this one:
On the other hand, Sant Esteve is located in the north
of the region El Baix Llobregat, inside
the province of Barcelona. In the
north of Sant Esteve there is Abrera, in the south Castellví de Rosanes, in the east Martorell and finally, in the west we can see Sant Llorenç d’Hortons.
Sant Esteve is divided in eight
boroughs: La Beguda Alta, Ca’n Amat, Can
Bargalló, Can Margarit, El Pou del Merlí, Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Vallserrat
and Can Prats.
Sant Esteve is near Barcelona (41 km), Sitges (53 km), and el Prat Airport (40 km).
Thirdly, in Sant Esteve there aren't a lot of
touristic places, although you can go to
El Parc del Motor or La Ruta Verda,
there are famous touristic natural routes. Moreover, you can visit the
wine-cellars, like Cavas Roger Goulart;
this one is very important here. However, in Barcelona there are a lot of beauty
touristic places like La Sagrada Familia,
El Barri Gótic, La Pedrera… or one of the most famous mountains in
Catalonia: Montserrat.
Apart from this, we must remember that in Sant Esteve there are two important
factories and many inhabitants work here:
ChupaChups, is a factory of candies with a stick (a kind of lollipop), it was
founded by Enric Bernat in 1958 in Villamayor.
Besides, ChupaChups is also famous
because the painter Salvador Dalí, designed the logo of this brand.
The other important factory is SEAT, it’s a car’s factory, and it was
founded in 1950. Furthermore, its headquarter is in a territory between Abrera, Martorell and Sant Esteve.
